In China in 2003, a restaurant in the southern Hunan province decided to try a new idea, but in my opinion the chefs went a little too far in an attempt to attract customers by offering dishes made with human breast milk.
Two dishes were on offer for the first time, abalone and perch with the milk provided from six peasant women who were still breastfeeding their children, although there was no mention of how much they were being paid.
The restaurant owner said that the milk used in his dishes was safe and hygienic. He added “Our opinion is that we should respect natural things. When the customers are having the human milk banquet, they can experience maternal love at the same time.”
