This creature is called a Thylacine, commonly known as the ‘Tasmanian Tiger’ and it was the largest carnivorous marsupial of modern times.
I have never even heard of it let alone seen pictures of it! Anyway, the animal became extinct in the 20th Century. You will see in the clip below why it was called the ‘Tiger’, but it was also known as ‘Tasmanian Wolf’, Tassie (Tazzy).
It was native to Australia and New Guinea, but became extinct on the Australian mainland thousands of years before European settlement and only survived on the island of Tasmania along with the Tasmanian Devil.
It is claimed that sightings are still seen of this weird animal all though it is officially classified as extinct. Watch the clip below, is starts off a bit iffy but only for about 20 seconds!
