Turkey Testicle Festival
For the past 26-years, people have flocked to the Huntley, Illinois, for the annual Turkey Testicle Festival, which normally takes place in November, for the food and beer bash with a difference.
People are said to go nuts over the delicacies on offer, although alternatives are available said the owner, who just happens to have the surname of McDonald.
Every year he orders 1200 pounds of the frozen turkey bite-size trophies, coats them in breadcrumbs and cooks them and says that there are never any left-overs. The little tit-bits are said to look like popcorn shrimps and taste like chicken or maybe turkey!
Live bands play throughout the day and a free shuttle bus is also on hand so that the locals can really enjoy themselves without having to drive.
There is even a gift-shop where you can buy your ‘Turkey Testicle Festival’ T-shirt, Sweatshirt, headbands, bumper-stickers and much more, who would want to forget that experience!
The Festival, however, is all in a good cause as it helps local charities, as all the profits from the day are divided and shared amongst the organisations.
