This week, at a packed Argentine zoo, thieves stole a monkey by creating a distraction, grabbing the animal and fleeing over a fence according to officials.
The minuscule Titi monkey, who is only 6-in long and 3-months of age when stolen on Sunday at the La Plata zoo, which at the time of the theft had 4000 visitors.
The Authorities are said to be looking for two young men and have requested visitors who had taken photographs at the time of the incident to come forward.
The two suspects apparently distracted guards by breaking padlocks on the pen of another animal and then cut through the wire enclosure holding the monkeys.
Nicholas Gutierrez, a zoo guide said the two suspects were wearing soccer jerseys, “it caused quite a stir” he said.
