Volcanic Ash

Some people will buy anything and this website just goes to prove it after advertising a jar of volcanic ash from Iceland.  ( www.nammi.is)

The ash has been collected and can be shipped out to customers anywhere in the world, so if you want to be a piece of history here’s where you will find this little treasure.

The site is claiming to be selling the ash with all profits going to ‘ICESAR’ that is helping with the cleaning up process after the eruption.

I can’t imagine anybody who would really want to purchase I jar of ‘dust’, but then some people just don’t know what to spend their money on next I guess!

A rather attractive horse!

A 66-year-old man, named as Joseph Squires of Leicester appeared in court this week accused of having sex with a horse and a donkey.

He was charged with buggery of the horse between March 15-18 and buggery with the donkey between February 2-5 of 1999.

The pensioner was due to stand trial of the crimes but pleaded guilty to both counts and two further charges of property damage relating to the animals.

On a request that the man be given bail, his defence counsel said that Squires had no previous convictions and was of previous good character. He added;

“The defendant does not have a stable address although he says his daughter can provide an address.”

The judge refused the application for bail and remanded Squires in custody until he is sentenced on May 24.

Fireworks

Most people express their desires of where they would like their ashes scattered before they have died but here are a few new ideas to go out with a bang!

One of the most popular ideas of late is too be loaded into a firework with a combustible powder and sent soaring into the night sky in a blaze of glory.

A small company in Switzerland use the ashes to create a lasting memento in the form of a diamond.  The ashes are heated and pressurised to produce the gem which is then cut and polished before being added to jewellery of your choice.

Maybe you would prefer the final trip of a lifetime by sending your ashes to the moon, closer to heaven I suppose if nothing else.

Another heirloom to remember your loved ones by, having them added to a handcrafted piece of glass art.  Only a teaspoon full of ashes are used in each item so that more than one can be made or the rest of the ashes can be scattered in required.

Someone has actually started turning ashes into pencils, and just one dead body can produce up to 240 of them.

Finally, a portrait of your loved one painted with their ashes.  The ashes are mixed with a special solution to form a paste which is then used to form the picture.

I think I like the diamond idea the best so that I can always be close, although I’m not sure if it would be to creepy feeling like your being watched all the time!

I don’t think it’s for me but each to their own as they say!

There is nothing worse than going out for a walk and treading in a load of dog crap because it’s irresponsible owner wouldn’t clear up.  However, the chances of getting this off without most of it on your hands is slim.  How embarrassed does this dog look!
